VA SSVF Grant

Ernie Massie - 12/13/2023

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is announcing the availability of funds for supportive services grants under the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program. This notice of funding availability (NOFA) contains information concerning the SSVF Program, the renewal and new applicant supportive services grant application processes, and the amount of funding available. Awards made for supportive services grants will fund operations beginning Oct. 1, 2024.

Applications for supportive services grants under the SSVF Program must be received by the SSVF Program Office by 4 p.m. Eastern time on Feb. 23, 2024.

For very low-income veterans, SSVF provides case management and supportive services to prevent the imminent loss of a veteran's home or identify a new, more suitable housing situation for the individual and his or her family; or to rapidly re-house veterans and their families who are homeless and might remain homeless without this assistance.

The holiday season is a time of giving and looking out for one another. If you are part of a low-income military family, or want to help a veteran in financial need, you can always reach out to your local County Veterans Service Office. Find yours at https://dvs.ohio.gov/what- we-do/find-a-cvso
